  • 1 little yoghurt of my own making
  • cafe au lait (whole milk, natch)
Throughout the day
  • lots of cafe au lait
Notes: It was just that kind of day. Hurricane season brings out the crazy.

  • 1 mozz-and-tomato sandwich: two thick slices of ciabatta, about 2-3 oz fresh mozz, 2 slices tomato, some lettuce, some pesto
  • another cafe au lait
  • 1 heath bar cookie. happy now, uterus mine?
Before Crossfit
  • 2 oz swiss cheese
  • 2 squares of some weird healthy cake stuff
  • about a cup of skim milk
  • a handful of dried blueberries
  • Warm-up: 200 (or so - I just kept doing them) jump ropes. OMGOMGOMG YOU GUYS! I did running-step jump ropes (where you're constantly switching feet like you're running in place) for the first time ever (not counting times when I tried and couldn't make it past about 2 steps)!!!!!!! Holy shit. I am Supergirl.
  • Hero workout: 1000m row, 150 ring rows, 250 pushups, 400 squats, 1000m row. My team was me, Veronica and Martha. I think we were the last done but we were also working the hardest - I know I was the only one doing real pushups. Gave out about 2/3 of the way through the squats - the others picked up the slack and cheered me on, but I could tell Martha was kinda miffed. I really need to make sure I eat well enough, long enough before the workout. And Polly stole my Gatorade! Grrr.
  • 1/2 c lentil soup with water to 2 c
  • 2 small slices sourdough bread with swiss cheese melted on
  • 1 little yoghurt - only one more!

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

  • 1 little yoghurt that I made! yay!
  • 1/2 c lo mein
  • 1 string cheese
  • 1 c skim milk
  • 7 almonds
  • 1/2 a tuna salad sandwich with lettuce and tomato on a croissant
  • ~2-3 oz mozz and cheddar
  • 7 grapes
  • 3 crackers and 3 pita crisps
  • I'm sure there was coffee in there somewhere
  • 2 c lentil soup
  • 3 oz cheese
Notes: I'm pretty sure I had something between lunch and dinner, either before or at school. Coffee, for sure. Damn but that stuff they brew at the school is nasty as fuck.

Monday, November 9, 2009

  • 1/2 Honey Bunches of Oats (with Almonds!)
  • 1 c whole milk
  • 1 yoghurt of my own making! w00t go me!
Notes: Time to get serious about this shit. I'm super-fit underneath, I just need to scrape off the last bits of pudge. No more fucking chips! And I'm seriously limiting my lo mein - yes it's delicious, but no more than a measured-out 1/2 c at a time.

Time for work. Limiting myself to an 8-oz cup for my one latte; un-sweetened or -creamed tea the rest of the time.

  • 1/2 c hummus
  • 1 c tabbouleh
  • 10 pc soft whole wheat pita
  • 8 oz cider
  • a couple swallows of coffee with milk
  • 1/2 wrap with seared tuna and spinach
  • 1/2 slice apple rum raisin bread
  • 1 latte - 1 shot, whole milk, no sugar
After Crossfit
  • the rest of the wrap, with
  • 1/2 c lo mein
  • 2ish c cocoa with skim milk

Sunday, November 8, 2009

  • 1 c whole milk
  • 1 oz parmesan
  • 1 little strawberry yoghurt
  • ~1/2 c plain yoghurt
  • 1/2 dill pickle
  • a handful of almonds
  • 1 protein bar
  • 1 string cheese
  • 1 forkful of peanut butter (at Maggie's house, a bit later(
  • 1 absolutely delicious cappuccino with whole milk at Caffe Driade
At work
  • About 3 teas with some amount of milk and/or sugar in them
  • ~2 oz cheese
  • 3 pita chips
  • 3 wheat crackers
  • 1 bag chips (yes yes I know)
  • 1 egg roll
  • ~1 c lo mein
Notes: Ugh. Why do I do that? I don't actually want the chips or the egg roll or what have you; I know I'm going to wish I hadn't eaten it; and yet I just go ahead and cram it in - quickly, so I don't hear all the voices telling me not to. Arglebargle.

Wednesday, November 4, 2009

  • 1 slice bread
  • 1 oz swiss cheese
  • 1 fried egg
  • 1 little strawberry yoghurt
  • 1 small glass skim milk
Notes: Ordered my Gain Tarot set last night - SO freaking excited!!! In other news, I'm late to work, more later.

  • ~4 oz mozz
  • 2 slices tomato
  • a couple strips of red pepper
  • a handful of lettuce
  • 2 slices ciabatta
  • small whole latte with vanilla
  • 4 c hot water with honey and ACV
  • 2 eggs
  • ~2 oz cheese
  • 8 Saltines
  • 1/2 avocado
Notes: What a day.

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

  • 1 poached egg
  • 1 little strawberry yoghurt
  • 1 oz leftover tofu
  • 1/2 c leftover lo mein
  • 1 c skim milk
  • 6 almonds
Notes: I've really gotten off-track, and not just with diet. Exercise, schoolwork, work itself (everything besides what I actually do at the store, that is), faith...everything's kinda fallen away as I'm trying just to keep my head afloat. The problem is, the only thing that's really dragging me down is me.

This is my new-year's attempt (blessed belated Samhain, internets!) to pull everything back together. I need to start logging my food and exercise again because if I don't, I seem not to care - no record whatsoever doesn't make me feel as bad as a record of failure. I need to write up a schedule for myself, containing work, school, exercise and times that I need to devote to certain pursuits - and stick to is, because if I don't I just stumble to work and back, then stuff my face while wandering the internet. then sleep fitfully and do it all again.

Tony told me last night that I'm his muse. Not so much for poetry or flowery prose - he's not usually one for that kind of stuff. No...I'm the inspiration for all the work he's been doing to get himself set up and cemented in the adult world - working harder to finish school sooner, getting his business set up, even heeding my tearful pleas to sleep and eat a little more and not self-medicate so much. He's intentionally making himself into a better person, and more of a man, because of me.

I need to run to work so more on this later.

  • ~1 c Lebanese green beans
  • ~1/2 c golden beet salad
  • ~1/2 c tabbouleh
  • ~2-3 oz mozz and cheddar
  • 3 whole wheat crackers
  • 3 baked pita triangles
  • about 7 grapes
  • 6 oz coffee, 4 oz whole milk
Notes: I drank coffee without sweetener, yay me! I am a macho macho man.

During the day
  • ~1 c total apple cider
Notes: I GOT A RAISE TODAY! $1/hour more. W00t!

At home, before school
  • 1 oz mozz
  • 1 c brussel sprouts with mustard sauce
  • 1 c water with ACV
  • 1/2 c brussel sprouts
  • ~1 oz whitefish
  • ~1 c lo mein
  • 4 pc tofu
  • a couple good swallows of Gatorade

Monday, October 12, 2009

  • ~1 c lo mein
  • ~10 pc tofu
  • 1/2 tortilla
  • ~4-6 oz tuna
  • ~1.5-2 c spinach
  • 1 small single-shot whole latte with a little vanilla syrup
  • 1 bag chips (yeah, yeah)
  • Another latte, same as the first
  • 200 jumpropes to warm up
  • 50 KB swings for time(American-style, 35 lbs, 2:25)
  • max pushups (23 and then I fell. merh. shitty)
  • WOD: 40/30/20 of wallballs (12-lb), KB swings (American, 25-lb) and box jumps (jumped on a 12-in? first time through, stepped on a 24-in? second and third times)
Notes: Fucking shitty workout. I hadn't eaten since noon except for that latte, but was doing ok (except for the abysmal max pushups) til the WOD. Wallballs just killed me - I don't know what it is about them, but no other exercise, not even burpees, gets me as hard as they do. And then I was just worthless for everything else. I couldn't even make myself do one jump on my usual box height, I was too scared I'd fall. Dave had me go jump on the shorter one but it just felt so incredibly girly and sissy that, to add even more shame, I started crying from frustration. Horrible. The first workout I can remember where I felt mentally worse leaving than when I came in.

  • ~2/3 c lo mein
  • leftover soup made new: 1 qt veggie-and-tofu soup mixed with more water and miso, then 2 eggs cooked in
  • ~1 1/2 c whole milk
Notes: Soup is the best. I'm done now. Goodnight.

Thursday, October 8, 2009

  • 1 egg
  • 2 oz cheese
  • 1 slice bread
  • some milk i think?
During the day
  • 2 12-oz lattes, each with 1 shot espresso, whole milk and 1/2 squirt of vanilla syrup
Notes: It was that kind of day.

  • ~4 oz rare tuna
  • a few forkfuls each of green beans and tabbouleh - was kind of nasty today
  • ~1/2 c beets. Always good.
At home
  • 2 small glasses whole milk

Wednesday, October 7, 2009

  • 1 of those protein bars
Later on
  • 1 1/2 London Fogs
Notes: May have to cut down on those. Just because they're better than coffee doesn't mean I can have all I want.

  • ~3 oz cheese (mozz and cheddar)
  • ~6-10 little grapes (they weren't very good)
  • 3 pita triangles
  • 3 or 4 whole wheat crackers
  • 2 vegan summer rolls (each has 1 rice paper wrap, ~3/4 c lettuce, a little bit of shredded carrots and 2 smallish (size of two fingers but not that thick) slices of tofu, served with peanut sauce)
Notes: Bleah. Not supposed to eat the tuna wraps anymore because they're expensive. Merh.

At home
  • 9 almonds
  • 2 handfuls chopped cabbage with salt, ACV and EVOO
  • 1 slice bread with low-fat mayo and ~1 oz cheddar
  • a big swing of skin milk
  • 800m warm-up run
  • 10ish minutes tactical kettlebells
  • tabata wod: 20 seconds max effort, 10 seconds rest, repeated 8 times; 2 minutes rest in-between different exercises. We did Russian KB swings (35 lbs), wall-balls (12-lb ball), thrusters (full front squat to fully overhead) (the lightest of the weighted bars - 30 lbs?) and pushups
  • 2 big handfuls cabbage
  • 3ish oz cheese with crackers
  • 1 c milk

Tuesday, October 6, 2009

  • 2 medium slices sourdough bread
  • 1 smallish tomato, sliced
  • liberally applied nonfat greek yoghurt
  • 1 slice swiss cheese
  • 4 c tea with lemon balm, chamomile, raspberry leaf and chastetree berries
Notes: I love this sort of morning - not quite being lazy, but certainly not hurrying to get anywhere. Just sitting down to read the paper or write, cup of tea at my elbow and cat at my feet, yowling because she's sure she'd like tea if I'd just let her taste it

Loading up on Vitamin C - apparently it's an emmenagogue (along with several of the things in my tea, but those are milder). Maybe this is the way to get back on schedule. For the last two times I know it's fallen on or very near the full moon, but now it's just past and there's no (visible) sign yet. I think it would be pretty cool to have that happen every time.

Went to the herb store for pennyroyal (for the same purpose) and the assistant looked more than a little disturbed by the fact that I was asking for it - told me in no uncertain terms that they "Never!!!" carry it. After a little research I found out that there was a huge big to-do of a case about 15 years ago in which a young woman attempted an herbal abortion using pennyroyal and one or both of the cohoshes and vastly overdosed, resulting in her death. The resulting scandal (her parents and their lawyer were sure it was the herb alone that done her in, not her misuse of it or the fact that she didn't realise she had an ectopic pregnancy) gave the herb something of a nasty reputation, which is why today I can't ask my friendly neighborhood herbalist for some of it without being looked askance at, no matter how innocent my need for it is.

  • 2 medium slices of sourdough bread
  • nonfat greek yoghurt, liberally applied
  • ~1/2 c roasted red peppers
  • 2 slices swiss cheese
  • 1 small glass whole milk
Notes: Ok, getting kind of nervous about this speech. Mostly because I have so very much to say and I don't want to go over the time. Going downtown in a few to yoink some nice specimens of Plantago majus and P. lanceolata I saw growing by the Duke Wall yesterday.

  • ~1/2 c yellow rice (saffron? turmeric? not sure - mama made it)
  • ~6 oz salmon
  • 1 c chocolate milk
  • crackers with brie while watching Afro Samurai
Notes: I get sooo fucking hungry at school! Seriously need to pack something in the car to eat on the drive. Also, Afro Samurai is seriously the best anime evar.

Monday, October 5, 2009

  • ~1 1/2 c lo mein
  • 6? pieces tofu
  • 1 c chocolate milk
Notes: No work today, as Duke is closed for fall break. So I'm bumming around in my bathrobe. Not being dressed always makes me want to just carry the lazy-bum thing into all aspects of my life.

Closing my computer. Getting dressed and washing my face. Cleaning my room. After the floor is clear I'm writing down my notes for this speech tomorrow and filling out this drop-class form.

Late Lunch
  • ~1/2 c lo mein
  • 10 pieces tofu
Notes: Room is slowly getting cleaner. Thank god for concentration aids. I have too much shit.

  • 1x around the Duke wall with Megan
Notes: Only ran about 1/4 of the way, if that. Megan's foot started really hurting her and we stopped to walk, made a detour to 9th St Active Feet for their expert advice (which turned out to be the same as mine: that she needs new shoes or at the very least an insert or orthotic).

  • 3 slices swiss cheese
  • ~1 c Mama's soup (beans, peppers, potatoes? corn?)
  • ~1/3 c greek yoghurt in the soup - delish!
  • 2 c hot water with 2T honey and 2T ACV
  • 400-m sprint to warm up
  • ~10 min tactical practice with 25-lb KBs (20-lbs for snatches)
  • Filthy Thirty: 30 ea. of box jumps, jumping pull-ups, American KB swings, hanging knees-to-elbows, walking lunges, push press with 35-lb bar, back extensions, wall ball with 12-lb ball, 15 burpees and 60 single-under jump-ropes. I think that's all. Kinda feel like there was another though.
Notes: Holy fuck this one was hard. Got really, really bad cramps halfway through the knees-to-elbows and had to leave the room to get over it. One of the super-fit regulars came to check on me and was super nice, talked me up and commiserated and all. I finished the workout, just really slowly, and had to stop another couple of times, but I made it. No idea of the time, and I wouldn't really count it if I did know.

Sarah the crazy-awesome fitness goddess said I was a total rockstar for working so hard through the pain, and she and Jill were trading "nelly is awesome" comments back and forth for a minute or two - good thing my face was already red from working out or it would have been even more apparent that I was blushing ;P

  • 2 small slices sourdough bread
  • ~1 1/2 c 2% milk
  • 1 salmon burger
  • like 10 almonds
  • 3/4 c orange sherbet
  • 1 T "whipped topping"
  • 4 c tea with catnip, chamomile, chaste tree berries and red clover. Begone, cramps!
Notes: I forgot what one unlabeled herb was but suspected it was catnip. One pinch on the kitchen floor and 5 minutes of tail-chasing later, my suspicions were confirmed. :D

  • 1 protein bar - the same kind as the first one I listed
  • ~1 1/2 c beets
  • ~1/2 c tuna salad
  • coffee: ~8 oz coffee, ~4 oz milk (half skim half whole), 1 pump Irish Cream syrup
  • ~2 c veggie lo mein
  • ~3/4 c tofu
  • 2 c hot water mixed with 2T honey and 2T ACV
  • some popcorn
Notes: Dinner was taken in two stages, intentionally smaller than I usually take. Damn delicious Chinese food. But that hot water stuff is really the shit. Tastes pretty much like cider. W00t for satisfying cravings on a dime!

Later on
  • 3 forkfuls of lo mein
  • 4-5 pieces of tofu
  • ~2 c milk
Notes: Ok so I broke down and went back for more. But I didn't eat the whole damn thing, which I consider a triumph (even if it's smaller than it should be). Work in progress, like.

Running etc
  • 1x around the neighborhood with Maggie
  • Mag's exercise deal: she puts on 4 songs of similar length and then does different exercises to each. She did various crunches and stuff like that. I did full situps for the first, pushups and plank for the second, side plank and queen's chair for the third and then some cleans with a 15-lb dumbbell during the second but it was too light (this includes resting, usually in child's pose, in between sets)
Notes: She can run faster and farther than me, and although she'd never say it out loud, she kind of enjoys that. Sometimes it pushes me and sometimes I just feel fat and slow.

  • 1 little strawberry yoghurt
  • 1 poached egg
  • ~1 c 2% milk
  • 1 slice swiss cheese
  • 1 medium apple
  • ~12 oz french vanilla coffee with 2% milk (so girly!)
Notes: I do love coffee in the morning. Maybe I should just break down and get a bag of nice decaf. And wake up early enough that it wouldn't make a difference.

Kind of related to all this food and exercise stuff: went out shopping with Maggie, after having asked her to help me start dressing better. She gave me an armload of clothes that contained several pairs of size 8 jeans. I can't remember ever getting smaller than a 10, even back in high school. But oh my gods. They fit. They're a little snug but not uncomfortably so, and they look hot as hell.

  • 1 mini veggie deluxe burrito
  • 1 Corona with lime
Notes: Went to Cosmic. Probably should have had half then and half later, but jeebus they are so good, and I hadn't eaten all day.

  • Swing dancing from 7:30-10:50 at the Armory
Notes: OMG I LOVE DANCING SO MUCH! There was this adorable boy there whose aunt and uncle had brought him and were teaching him how to dance. So cute! But my legs are going to be sooo sore. I need to get some shoes to dance in that won't come off!

  • 1.5 c blueberries
  • 1 c 2% milk
  • 2 slices swiss cheese
Notes: Maybe that was more sugar than I should have had at one time. I don't fucking care. Blueberries and milk is one of the best things in the world (probably on the short list).

During the day
  • 1 London Fog
Notes: These are also among the best things ever. Apparently they are from California. Yay hippies!

  • ~1 c green beans with tomatoes
  • ~1/2 c tabbouleh
  • ~1/2 c beets
  • ~3 oz cheese (mozz and cheddar)
  • 3 pita chips
  • 3 or 4 crackers
  • ~10 grapes
Notes: Yay variety! Also, beets are marvelous creatures. Talked to Tony during lunch and super ridiculously excited because he's coming to visit!!! 2 weeks OMG! And from his detailed description of the activities that will take place while he's down here, seems like he's pretty excited too :D

Later on
  • 1 slice of swiss cheese
  • like 5 almonds
  • a swallow of 2% milk (all of these at home)
  • 6 oz coffee, 4 oz whole milk and 1/2 pump vanilla syrup
  • 1 "nut delight" bar
  • 100 jump-ropes (after warming up with 100-150 of my own)
  • 15ish minutes of tactical kettlebells
  • a game: Camille and I alternated push-ups and plank pose on elbows until 100 push-ups were done, 50 each (20, 15, 10, 5). Then, after a breather, we moved over to the medicine ball bowling station, rolling a 12-lb-er into a goal about 20 ft away for one point. We had to try and beat the number of points V and Beth scored while we were doing our push-ups (43) and if i didn't suck at bowling so much we would have whupped them. As it was, we were about half a second away from scoring #44 when they called time.
  • (15 squats, 10 walking lunges, 5 jumping pull-ups)x6 rounds for time. I was second-to-last but actually did 7 rounds so if not first for 6 I think I was second.
  • ~2 c of soupy but delicious veggie lasagna made by Maggie and her friend
Notes: Mitchell taught the class because Dave is in NY. Kinda crazy (ok more than kinda) but he's always fun, and I feel like I can joke around with him a little more, which is good for morale. But I still like Dave best, I think.

Thursday, October 1, 2009

  • 1 fried egg with 1T olive oil
  • 1 c 2% milk
  • 1 little strawberry yoghurt
  • 6 almonds
Notes: W00t Zone! I think I didn't have enough carbs though.

During the day
  • ~1.5 London Fogs - ~6 oz Earl Grey tea, 1 squirt vanilla syrup, ~2 oz hot whole milk. Yum!
Notes: Dude this thing is so much better than coffee. I think I'm in love. Also needs a lot less milk and sugar to counteract the bitterness.

  • ~1c green beans with tomatoes
  • ~1/2 c tabbouleh
  • ~1/2 c beets
  • 4 crackers
  • 3 baked pita triangles
  • ~3 oz cheese (mozz and cheddar)
  • like 7 little red grapes
Notes: OMG I love beets!

Also during the day
  • ~4 oz frappe remnants
Duke Wall
  • 1x around with Megan (and a sprint to get in front of the cute guy walking after we had cooled down, even though she wouldn't do it :P)
  • 9 pc salmon sushi
  • ~3/4 c squid salad
  • some milk, I think
Notes: I love running with Megan. Even if we're both tired as hell and can only do once around, it just feels like an escape.

Thursday, September 24, 2009

  • 4 pcs leftover pizza
Notes: Still sick. Don't judge me. It figures that when I finally did get the family bug, I'd be spared the nausea.

During the day
  • A couple handfuls of roasted edamame
  • 1 c skim milk
  • Water water water (hot, with ACV to taste, about 1t-1T per cup, sometimes a little squirt of honey as well)
Notes: Headache. Merh. Thinking about making the trek to town to pick up some white willow - perfect time to try it out! But then again I'd have to shower and get dressed and make the effort to look semi-human.

Also during the day
  • A few more edamame
  • Another slice of pizza
  • This absolutely wonderful lemon-flavored tea-esque powdered drink that helps my sniffles and ache-y-ness and then just knocks me out entirely
Notes: Never did make it all the way to the herbs-n-stuff store, but seriously, after a few cups of this stuff, I might just go conventional. It could only be better if it had booze in it.

Still later during the day
  • Lots more edamame
  • 2 more cups of this tea stuff (with the recommended 4 hours in-between)
  • 1 entire bar of Ghiardelli dark chocolate with raspberry mushy stuff inside it
Notes: Got the chocolate in a care package from the best boy ever. It was melted but still delicious, and (almost) made up for the lack of snuggles due to distance (especially with "missing you" scrawled on the outside *squee!*). Also, "I Love You, Man" is a very silly movie and totally a chick flick for guys, but Jason Segel is still a cutie-pie.

  • ~3-4 oz baked salmon with miso-mirin glaze
  • 2 c hot water with ACV and honey
Notes: Not hungry, just felt like it was time to eat something. Feeling slightly more human, although still with that weak, chilled-but-not-cold, shaky feeling you get when you've been sick. I'm opening the shop tomorrow, bleargh. Juan can be very passively insistent. Already set my nettle tea to brew for the morning, though; that should help.

I wish it was fall. Feeling the wanderlust again.

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

  • 1 fried egg
  • 1 oz mozz-esque cheese
  • 1/2 c 2% milk
  • 1 little strawberry yoghurt
At work
  • ~4 oz total of frappe remnants
  • 16 pcs sushi (salmon/avocado and eel)
  • ~1/2 c squid salad
  • 4 (yes 4) slices of pineapple pizza with garlic sauce
Notes: I'm sick. Feel like shit. Hurts to move. If I want to eat pizza I'lll eat the goddamn pizza. Hopped up on cough meds right now and going to doze until I can take more. Nelly out.

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

  • 1 poached egg
  • 1 medium apple, sliced
  • 1 oz cheddar
  • 1 c skim milk
  • 9 almonds
Notes: Yay Zoning! I like food volume. Also, Goddess was totally spot-on when she created apples and cheese.

  • Tuna wrap
  • 1 c of coffee/whole milk/cocoa powder/nutmeg mixture
Throughout the day
  • ~1 c total of frappe remnants (probably less)
Notes: Pretty good day. I was all feisty and had good comebacks. I like being feisty.

Memorable customers: young dude with a beard with whom I had a whole conversation based on "like:" first he wanted "like, iced coffee;" when I said we could do one better as we had exactly like iced coffee, it escalated. Finally, he said "like, thank you!" and I told him he was "like, welcome." Older professor with the last name "Prose" told me that one of his friends always told him that "it could be Verse!"

  • ~1.5 c "company eggs" made by mama - eggs, peppers, onions, cream cheese
  • 1 oz random mozz-esque cheese in fridge
  • 1 small glass 2% milk
  • something else? I honestly forgot but I think that's all
Notes: Ugh. Getting sicker by the minute. Had a good time at class though. But...what to do when people who are cool and interesting and all ask me out and I don't want to say no but obviously am not available for what they want? Yargh.

No exercise today :( It's just too dark when I get home from school! Maybe running in the early morning or between work and school (if i have time and it's not too hot so i don't sweat too much and stink up the room)? Also, I need to pack something in the car to eat before school - I get way too hungry.

Monday, September 21, 2009

  • "Chewy Chocolate Chip" Pure Protein bar: 200 cal, 20g protein, 18g carbs, 5g fat

Notes: need more volume! Also should always have water with these bars.

  • Tuna Wrap: ~4 oz tuna, ~2 handfuls spinach, 1 tortilla, ~2T honey mustard vinaigrette dressing
  • 1 bag chips
  • ~1/2 of a mug with 1/2 whole milk, 1/2 coffee and a squirt of vanilla syrup

Notes: Shouldn't have had the chips; no excuse there. Also can do without syrup in coffee. Stop being a girly wuss and drink coffee without sugar!

Throughout the day
  • 2 or 3 4-5 oz remainders of frappes
  • about 6 oz of "real hot chocolate" experimentation (with whipped cream)
  • 16-ish oz peppermint tea when I finally came to my senses
Notes: 10.5-hour day; 1022 people served. Still not a good enough excuse, especially for the whipped cream. Next time: start with the tea right after lunch!

  • 20 min tactical stuff (PVC pipe squats etc, KB swings and cleans. To remember: 25-lb KB in each hand; 1 Russian swing, 1 KB clean, 1 squat; rinse & repeat. Music: Queen, "Another One Bites the Dust")
  • Workout: front squat with 2 25-lb KBs (clean to start), pushups, situps. 9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1. Time: unknown
Duke Wall
  • Once around (1.6 mi); walk 3ish minutes to start, run rest of the way. Started with a pretty tired shuffle and got up to a nice clip by the end.
Notes: Need to eat something around 5:30 and keep drinking water till 6:45ish - got pretty dizzy and dehydrated at Crossfit. Still finished first though, w00t! Running was SO much harder alone - I miss Megan chattering the whole way! Could probably have gone at least twice around if I'd eaten better and stayed hydrated.

  • ~1/3 c basmati rice
  • ~1 c leftover Indian mush (tomato sauce, tofu chunks and chick peas were recognizable; otherwise no effing clue
  • ~2 (ok more like 3) T peanut butter
  • 1 poached egg
  • 1 little raspberry yoghurt
  • ~1 c skim milk (chugged from carton)
Notes: I really need to start planning what to have for dinner before I get home all famished and shizz. Preferably much earlier in the day. Like before I leave the house.
